My thoughts on The Avengers

So, the film is absolutely spectacular. It hits all the right notes and is pretty much everything you can possibly want in an Avengers film. I would still say this is in my top three favorite comic book movies of all time(behind Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.) My theater had about 25 other people not counting me, my girlfriend, and my three younger siblings, but we all had an awesome time. Everyone in the theater was applauding, laughing, and cheering. This might have been the most fun I have ever had watching a film at the cinema.

I kind of don’t wanna say any spoilers cause unless you are remotely interested in this film, I would suggest not watching anymore clips, trailers, or looking at any spoilers in general because I think a lot of the things that happen in this film should be experience for the first time without knowing anything about it. If anybody thinks that all the previews have given away the all key effects sequences and action scenes…NOT EVEN CLOSE. Those have been about 11% of what has been shown. If anybody thinks this film is Iron Man and friends, think again. While Tony Stark might have had the most memorable lines, this film is far from being focused on him.

And the film is FFFAAAARRRR from being just “all action” and “zero substance”. There is a lot of emotional scenes and very, very strong characterization’s. Like Bosef from the SHH forums said “this the Star Trek (2009) in that the action guides story”.
However, there a few flaws/gripes I had with this
The cinematography does in fact look it something that can be seen on TV.

The editing was kind of choppy in parts of the beginning of the movie. And there are a few others that I don”t wanna spoil that kind of bugged me.

Those are honestly the only negatives I had with this film. I enjoyed everybody. If I had to rank the best performances in order, it would go like this:

Tom Hiddleston

Robert Downey. Jr.

Mark Ruffalo

Jeremy Renner

Chris Evans

Chris Hemsworth

Samuel L. Jackson

Clark Gregg

Scarlett Johansson

Cobie Smulders

I loved Edward Norton in TIH, but Ruffalo did a much more memorable job than Norton, imo. He was passive agressive, funny, and sarcastic. Also, I liked the plot device they used for Banner to control The Hulk seeing as he has not Hulked out in over two years.

The score was pretty good. The music in the final battle is the best. The visual were great. ILM and WETA deserve a nomination for The Ruffalo Hulk alone. The final battle was THE BEST FINAL BATTLE IN ANY SUPERHERO MOVIE to date. Total chaos and had a great war movie feel to it. And for those who have read Whedon’s comments saying that this film was the definitive Hulk film…..he was right. Everyone kicks all sorts of ass in the final battle, but that is were Hulk shines and he just fucking steals the show. Overall, I think The Avengers is the best Marvel film and is equivalent to Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.
10/10

P.S. the mid credits scene=EPIC!!
P.P.S. if anyone has any particular questions they wanna ask me about that film, feel free to ask and I’ll try to answer them as best as I can.
