If, as Badass Digest argues, “The Avengers” “defeated irony and cynicism,” then “The Dark Knight Rises” feels like the rock-bottom, lowest-point examination of ourselves which provides the substance to make Joss Whedon’s optimistic vision endure. Because Nolan’s film is a reminder that superheroes aren’t merely a frivolous distraction, or even a wish-fulfillment fantasy, but an embodiment of our best selves – or at least what we want our best selves to be. The mag’s given Arkham City 97% but it’s the words that really give an indication of just how special this game is.
Reviewer Rob Taylor urges readers to “revel in one of the greatest games ever conceived.” He describes the combat as “near perfection” and “elevated to an entirely new level” while Arkham City as a location is “brooding and bloody massive.
Most excitingly though, the mag teases a “knockout ending” which of course (thankfully) is kept tightly under wraps.
Taylor concludes by proclaiming Batman: Arkham City to be, “brave, brutal, brilliant - the gold standard by which all future videogames should be judged.”
My anticipation level for this game has once went up another notch.

I knew from day one when this game was announced, that it was destined for epicness. This just gets me even more excited then EVER!!!!
